Community sensitive design
Design that fits the community
Throughout the US 41 Project WisDOT used a process called community sensitive design. CSD involves the aesthetic design of retaining walls, bridges, landscapes, and noise barriers. Designs use colors and patterns that weave the transportation project into the community’s architectural, cultural, historical and environmental fabric. This process ensures a project in which everyone takes pride.
Community sensitive design resources
WisDOT held several meetings to share community sensitive design details for the US 41 corridor in Brown County. Below are exhibits shared with the public.
