Brown County community sensitive design

Brown County CSDBrown County CSDAesthetic and functional designs, reflecting community image and ideals, is an integral part of the US 41 Project, thanks to the efforts and input of a Citizen’s Advisory Committee (CAC) assembled by WisDOT.

The comments obtained were carefully evaluated, and selected features were incorporated into a single recommended design concept, shown to the left. To capture the spirit of the community, the US 41 Project design team conducted 6 workshops with the CAC to identify issues and an aesthetic theme that could be utilized throughout the corridor.

Using this input as a guide, the design team developed a number of conceptual designs for the proposed structure and presented them in two separate public information meetings. The designs were also displayed on this Web site for the public to provide feedback. The comments obtained were carefully evaluated, and selected features were incorporated into a single recommended design concept, shown below.

WisDOT also worked with the Oneida Nation on designs for various locations along US 41 that will reflect the Oneida culture and history.
