US 41 – Lake Butte des Morts Schedule: August 2009 to November 2010 Location: US 41 southbound from US 45 interchange to the WIS 21 interchange. Description: This project involves widening the Lake Butte des Morts Causeway including the southbound US 41 off ramp to WIS 21.The project also constructs a new overpass for Lake Butte des Morts Drive over US 41 as well as the reconstruction of Lake Butte des Morts Drive and Marine Drive. August 29 to September 4: Crews continued work on the Lake Butte des Morts Drive overpass parapets. Grading and landscaping was completed on the causeway. Marine Drive grading and landscaping was completed. Culvert pipes on Marine Drive were installed. September 5 to September 11: Work will continue on the parapet walls for the Lake Butte des Morts Drive overpass. The contractor will strip false work from the Lake Butte des Morts overpass deck using nightly lane closures on Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday nights (Sept. 7-9). Breaker run and gravel will be placed on Marine Drive and Lake Butte des Morts Drive. Breaker run will be installed on the south end of the causeway. Traffic impacts: Southbound US 41 is reduced to two 11-foot lanes between US 45 and WIS 21. Northbound 41 inside and outside shoulders are closed at Westwind Road. The Wiouwash Trail is closed between Marine Drive and Ryf Road until fall 2010. Beginning Monday, April 12 through August 2010, Lake Butte des Morts Drive will be closed between Westwind Road and County T (Ryf Road). Access will be maintained to local residents and businesses, via County T or Westwind Road. Beginning Monday, June 28, the Wiouwash Trail parking lot will be closed for the relocation of the Lake Butte des Morts Drive – Westwind Road intersection; the parking lot will remain closed until mid-August. Westwind Road will be closed to through traffic between Marine Drive and Lake Butte des Morts Drive. Access to Westwind Road west of Lake Butte des Morts Drive will be via County T and Lake Butte des Morts Drive to Westwind Road.
